Where are the LAB server players at?
Great to see this board and remnants of Australian QWTF still around.
Feeling nostalgic this weekend, so thought I'd search some old QWTF names. Great to see a PnP presence. I believe PC (Panopticon Conspiracy?) had an active forum for many years, too. Is that still around?
LAB servers in their early days were somewhat isolated from the wider Australian TF community. I think mostly users on Alphalink and associated ISPs. Very few LPBs.
Anyway, my memory is super hazy these days. Played under goku41 in QWTF I think. Then the handle zhenjie during Counter Strike days. My team, AP (not the same QWTF Angry Peasants), won the first CPL Victorial comp for Counter Strike (first "professional gaming comp in aust?"), probably at a Shafted Lan. Then went on to Canberra to compete. I don't recall my clan members, but I recall one was from PnP and another [te]. I recall being featured in the first edition of Atomic magazine. Played with 12m who were pretty strong in the VIC CS scene, thanks in part of the two brothers owning a Lan cafe on La Trobe st circa 2000-2004.
Played some TF2 in its early days. I believe with some [te] (or [tc]? members. Good times. Stopped gaming cold-turkey soon after.
I was a pre-teen back in the QWTF days, so apologies if I was an annoying little prick.
