| I’ve already posted some of my predictions about where I think teams might end up by the end of the season. However, I did not outline the way these events will unfold. Below are 10 things that you can expect to happen in the upcoming season. #10 Sin will win a game with a lift cap and bask in the glory OK, so there is no chance at all of this happening, but I thought it deserved inclusion. #9 A clan will pull off an upset victory My money is on AP to beat someone on h4rdcore. They will probably have six chances at this upset if last season’s map choices are any indication. There will probably be a few other upsets if people bother picking alternative maps. XF used to lose Canalzone every time they played it and I wouldn’t be surprised to see J become the “modern XF” if people bother to choose Canalzone against them. #8 Someone’s dark past will be uncovered This prestigious category includes weird actions and name changing guys. The weird actions part has no doubt been covered by Oops and his photography skills. People changing nicks and being found out a few weeks later seems to be happening a lot these days eg. Shock - Kicker, Flesh- Zut, Huskarl- Hava. I don’t think there is much chance of an Oops incident this season but can definitely see the Huskarl card changing hands. #7 Some clown will continue talking on OZTF forums when they don’t even play TF and/or have no idea what they are talking about. Beee being an annoyance to everyone in the TF community is a constant that is only rivalled by the sun rising every morning. I have no doubt he will continue to post crap that nobody could care less about. I think we could see the emergence of a new Beee in the next season. They may not have the same power to annoy, but will stake a solid claim as the new Beee of OZTF. #6 A clan will have the same map picked against them every week and lose every week Last season it was AP and H4rdcore, but I don’t think this will necessarily happen again. The time before that it was XF losing on Canalzone whenever they played it. I think AP might get the season off and we will see some other clan playing a lot of one map. Some of the top clans might be found vulnerable to some less played maps if people bother picking them. #5 A clan will do something lame and claim there is no rule against it. Always happens without fail, last season it was A and holding the ball in the spawn on Spaz. I think it was FV crying about detpacks on 2night2 against J the season before. The chasing and concing sooking also happens every season. People get so emotional about this category that they make short movies about it! The smart money has to go on A to keep this type of activity occurring. #4 Some dispute about playing rules will come up and dominate forums The OZTF forums will eventually become polluted with a thread on rules. Every season someone starts a thread about something that’s wrong with TF at the moment and there are 500 replies from both sides. The most annoying one was DA and his fullbright skins, followed closely by DA and the need to remove forward rocketjump. Last season it was Hwguy attack, which has been resolved a lot more quickly than other issues in the past. #3 One clan will die by the end of the season This seems to happen to both new and old clans (KwK, XF, 4R, FX, etc.). With not a lot of new people coming into TF this will unfortunately probably happen again this season. #2 Some well known player will leave a clan to join another at finals time (more than likely to PnP) This pretty much goes without saying as every single season there is some blow up over somebody else joining around finals time. I think back to Kodiak, Zut, Marsh (when he dogged XF a day before the final) and see that this is a regular occurrence. Kodiak was probably the most successful in this category because he managed to stop the grand final happening when he joined PnP because FV were scared of him! Probably not as likely to happen this season because PnP are running out of players to poach. #1 Some controversy involving Sandz It just wouldn’t be an OZTF season if Sandz weren’t involved in something controversial! Whether it is kicking players, deleting web sites or some other event he will be sure to leave his mark. People often forget the effort he’s gone to in starting and running OZTF over the years, so he’s entitled to do something silly now and then! | ||||
